Questrade Foreign Exchange CEO Peter Diamandis says the company is still reviewing the damage from Hurricane Maria, but he hopes to get the company back online by Christmas.
“We’re hoping to be back up and running by Christmas,” Diamantis said Tuesday.
Diamantides was in the Puerto Rico territory Wednesday to help with the company’s recovery efforts.
In a tweet, Diamante said: “GOT toGETHER,” you’re going to get hurt.
Questrade has received more than $5 billion in emergency relief in Puerto Rico, the U.S. territory.
Puerto Rico has been struggling with an economic downturn, which has hurt its tourism industry, but Diamantis said that recovery effort is far from complete.
While some companies have had trouble getting back online in recent days, he said Questrade is the only one to have returned.
The company has not reported any significant revenue since the storm hit.
A total of 16 companies have registered to provide financial assistance to Puerto Rico residents, including Diamands Questrade, which provides insurance to companies.
