Aussie man found dead in his home in Thailand

A MAN has been found dead at his home after a neighbour found him unconscious and unresponsive in the bathroom.

The deceased, believed to be aged in his 20s, was found at his house in Chiang Mai, Thailand, at 10am (AEDT) on Saturday.

Police said they were investigating whether he had been involved in a relationship with the deceased.

“He was found unconscious and was unresponsive with signs of trauma,” police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jeev Chawla said.

Witnesses told police that the deceased, who was not identified, was lying face down in the bathtub.

No further details about the deceased were immediately released.

He is believed to have left his home around 12:30pm and was found by neighbours who were not in the house when he was found.

Police are investigating whether the deceased had been living with the victim’s family.

Thailand is one of the most dangerous places in the world for foreigners, with a high number of murders, rapes and robberies.

In 2015, a man died after being stabbed to death while out in a public area.
